My Background

My name is Deborah Morgantini and I am a professional genealogist.  I am the CEO, owner, and head researcher for Family Tree Archaeology.  I am a native of northeastern Pennsylvania and for the last decade have resided in North Carolina.  Upon earning a B.S. degree in education at Misericordia University and an M.S. degree in education from the University of Scranton, I began a career as a teacher and public-school principal.  I also served as an elected school board director.

Upon retiring from public service, I became extremely interested in my own family genealogy and in building my family tree.  During this time, I began to apply my “people” and researching skills to my own family history.  It became my passion.  Unfortunately at that point in my life, many of my older relative and family "sages" had passed on.  I almost had to start from scratch, but as I worked, many family stories began to come back to me.  By researching, analyzing, correlating, and documenting the information that I remembered from family stories (and sometimes family folklore), I was able to formulate the substantial family trees, based on sound research, that I have now constructed.

Being the eternal student and the unquenchable researcher that I am, genealogy courses became of great interest to me.  Following that lead I have engaged in online coursework through Boston University, the National Genealogical Society and Genealogical Studies.  By applying my years of researching family trees and the many genealogical courses that I have taken, the interest in beginning my own genealogical research company grew.

Since Family Tree Archaeology is a new genealogical research company as of 2020, I hope to appeal to clients such as myself, those that have a curiosity about their family history and may need some assistance.  As a genealogist, I love to help people discover their own family history and to find long-lost relatives.  Being a history detective and helping to solve age-old mysteries is truly exciting for me.

You can always be assured of receiving personal and friendly service on my part. I take pride in the quality of my work and will make every effort to ensure that you are happy with that service.  I am always happy to discuss potential projects with clients on the phone, through email or on a Zoom call.

Description of woman in above photo

Pictured above is my paternal grandmother whom I've been told that I resemble quite a bit! Of course, this photograph was taken about 1910, not in 2020.
